Run the shower with the drain open and watch the ceiling, then plug the drain, put a couple inches of water in the pan and watch again with nothing running. Wet during the first test but not the second usually means the drain line, and wet during the second means the pan or the seal at the drain. If the stain keeps spreading with every fixture off and no water moving, the leak is a supply line or a valve inside the wall, and if it darkens right after a flush instead, suspect the wax seal under the toilet. Stop using that fixture until someone opens it up, because the framing has been soaking a lot longer than the ceiling has been showing it.
