A maintenance visit on a single family home usually runs an hour or two, and your water is only off in short stretches rather than the entire time. The water heater flush is the longest single piece, since the tank has to drain and refill before anything else gets finished. Clearing out the cabinets under the sinks and leaving a path to the heater and the main shutoff before we arrive keeps the whole thing moving.
